Kenny Deuchar signs for Livingston FC

Livingston Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing today of experienced striker Kenny Deuchar.

Kenny has agreed to join Livingston after negotiating his release from Falkirk, and has signed a contract which will keep him at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium until the end of the 2011-12 season.

A proven goalscorer, Kenny's signing will significantly strengthen the Livingston squad for the second half of the season.

The 30-year old has scored well over a century of goals in the Scottish Football League, many of which came during successful spells with East Fife and Gretna, for whom he scored 38 league goals in their Second Division championship success in 2006.

More recently, he has enjoyed spells with Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake, Hamilton Accies, St Johnstone and Falkirk.

Well known for being a qualified doctor, Kenny will continue to practice medicine whilst playing for Livingston.

Livingston manager Gary Bollan is a long time admirer of the player, and he revealed that had he had his way, Kenny might have been a Livingston player last summer.

“I tried to sign Kenny when he joined Falkirk at the start of the season, so I am delighted to have finally got
him on board.

“His goalscoring record speaks for itself and I am sure he'll prove himself to be an excellent addition to the squad.

“He'll add another dimension to our attacking options.”

Kenny could make his Livingston debut in tonight's Irn Bru Second Division match against East Fife.
