Work is ongoing to overhaul our pitch for new season with groundman Stuart Speirs the busiest man at the Stadium at the moment.
After the top layer of turf was removed earlier in the week, the process of spreading tons of sand onto the pitch and mixing this with the remaining soil was the next task for Stuart and the team on contractors on site.
The result after Thursday and Friday's efforts is a scene more like a beach than a football pitch, but it's a necessary step to prepare the area for seeding.
Once seeded, the entire playing surface will be covered for at least a week to allow the grass seed to germinate and begin to grow.
Before long, Stuart assures us it should be back to its more characteristic green hue!
