LIVINGSTON grabbed a second home win on the bounce as they stuck four past Airdrie at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium.

Goals from Iain Russell, Stefan Scougall and a Tony Andreu double outnumbered John Boyle’s solitary effort for the away side.

There was an early let off for the home side though as John Boyle blasted a third minute penalty over the bar – after Jamie Ban had been fouled by Jesus Garcia Tena.
Andreu gave the Lions the lead on 21 minutes, taking a neat touch and firing a low shot into the net from ten yards.

The Frenchman it two on 38 minutes with a dipping shot from outside the box, and on 44 minutes Livi made it three. Scougall slipped in Russell who kept his cool to finish past Robbie Thomson.

Livi’s domination continued after the break, with sub Marc McNulty hitting forcing Thomson into a fine save in the pick of the chances.

The visitors were reduced to ten men with fifteen minutes left when Sean Lynch got a second yellow card for hacking down Burton O’Brien – and the home side took only three minutes to add to their tally.
Scougall and McNulty played a one-two and the former tucked the ball away into the bottom corner from eight yards.

There was a late consolation for Airdrie, when John Boyle sprung the offside trap to slot beyond Andy McNeil, but it was a small blip for the Lions as the three points remained in West Lothian.
