Simon Mensing has been appointed our new club captain, replacing Liam Fox who left the club at the end of last season.

Mensing joined the club from Raith Rovers earlier in the summer, and as assistant manager Mark Burchill explained, his strong leadership qualities and professionalism made him an obvious choice for the role.

"Simon has been fantastic since he came in. He's a natural leader and the lads have really taken to him," said Mark.

"He's got all the attributes we need in a captain and is a positive example for our young players."

Long serving defender Jason Talbot will be Mensing's vice-captain.

"Jason's been at the club for six seasons now and is well respected," added Burchill.

Like Simon he's got leadership qualities and as a senior player he's got a big role to play in and around the dressing room."
