Mark Burchill swooped this afternoon to sign talented defender Darren Cole in a deal that sees him remain at the Energy Assets Arena for the rest of the season.
The 23 year old has been training with the club for a couple of weeks now and was a standout in Tuesday night's Development League match with Raith Rovers.
"Darren has really impressed during his time here" said Burchill.
"He's a versatile player and can play anywhere across the back line. He had an injury during his time at Morton which saw the club release him, but he's not the class of player to be left searching for a new team.
"We're really lucky to have him here, and as he's a local lad, he's fitted in well with the rest of the squad, many of whom already know him."
Darren spent 3 years with Rangers before going on a brief loan to Partick Thistle prior to moving to Cappielow in 2013. He's also been capped for Scotland at U16, U17, U19 and U21 levels.
