LIVINGSTON failed to capitalise on their dominance in possession against Dundee as the visitors left with all three points.
Midfielder Liam Fox was twice denied by the post - once in each half - in a game where the Lions appeared assured in their overall performance but lacked a vital cutting edge.
Livi's failure once again this season to kill off Jocky Scott's side when presented with the opportunities was punished - just as it had been in a far more sweeping style at Dens Park two months ago - as Darren Young was left with a simple finish after a fantastic save by Roddy McKenzie from Antoine-Curier's effort conspired only to drop kindly into the path of the former Aberdeen midfielder.
Paul Hegarty's side had to compete with the absence of several first team regulars, with Dave Mackay, Chris Innes and Murray Davidson the more noticeable absentees.
But their replacements performed adequately to prove more than a match for their opponents and deserved better than to end up on the losing side.
It had looked like a late rally - and a red card for Dundee defender Gary MacKenzie - may rescue a point, but Leigh Griffiths' luck deserted him on a number of occasions in front of goal. |
