Barr completes Almondvale move

Bobby Barr has become a Livingston player after completing a permanent move from fellow Third Division side Albion Rovers.

Barr signed an eighteen month contract earlier today and could feature against his former club on Saturday, if the scheduled league game at Cliftonhill beats the weather.

The 21-year old forward started his career with St Johnstone, but has enjoyed considerable success with Rovers, winning the Third Division's Player of the Year award last season.

A fall out with the Rovers management saw him placed on the transfer list earlier this season though, and he spent most of November and December on loan at Second Division promotion challengers Brechin.

But now he has the chance to relaunch his career on a full time basis with Livi.

"We're absolutely delighted to sign Bobby in the face of some very strong opposition from a number of other clubs,"   confirmed chief executive Ged Nixon this evening.

"Bobby is a precocious talent and from our perspective his signing fits in with the direction we have been going in recently by re-signing a number of our home grown young players.

"He has been training with us ahead of the formalities of his move being completed, and has already shown that he is keen to develop further at Almondvale.

"We're sure that he will become a real asset to Livingston during the remainder of this season and beyond."
