Gary Bollan moved to strengthen his defensive options today by recruiting former Motherwell defender David Cowan on a short term contract.
Aged 28, he will add experience to the squad in the closing three months of the season.
Born in the Cumbrian town of Whitehaven, David began his career with Newcastle United, where he was a team-mate of former Livi favourite Colin McMenamin in their reserves.
After failing to make a first team breakthrough with the Magpies, he ventured north to sign for Motherwell and has played all his football since in Scotland.
He was most recently with Dundee, but has also been on the books at St Johnstone, Ross County and Gretna.
Normally found in the centre of defence, David is also capable of fulfilling a right back role.
