Our reserve side ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against East of Scotland League side Duns in their latest friendly last night.
But they were forced to fight all the way by a well organised Duns side after scoring twice in the opening quarter of the match, which was played at Berwickshire High School.
Both sides traded blows in the opening stages with Mark Hurst forced into a couple of early saves, but the deadlock was broken with a superb goal after twenty minutes.
Centre back Marc Fairman set Kamran Tufail off down the right flank and he delivered a superb ball to the near post which was met by Danny Mullen with a spectacular diving header.
Within two minutes, the second goal arrived, Andy Russell scoring from outside the penalty area.
There were more chances for both sides before half time, none of which were taken, while the second half became a more cagey affair, the home side playing a high line and condensing the game to stifle our attacking threat.
A third goal finally arrived five minutes before the end though; Andy Russell bagging his second of the night with a well taken spot kick.
Livingston: Hurst, Tufail (Baillie 55 (Wilson 70)), McDonald (Brady 64), Fairman (Donaldson 60), Hastings, Downie, Mullen (Collins 61), Beaumont (Murphy 63), A Russell, Cummings, L Gray
