A thoroughly professional performance saw us progress to the fourth round of the SFA Youth Cup with an 8-0 victory at the expense of Highland League side Formartine United.

Hailing from the Aberdeenshire town of Pitmedden, Steve Paterson's side thrashed Brora Rangers 8-1 in the second round, but were equally well beaten at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium this afternoon.

We could scarcely have got off to a better start with four goals in the opening nineteen minutes, which set the tone for a largely one-sided match.

Formartine defender Euan Anderson was unlucky to divert the ball into his own net, but it was quickly followed up with a well worked goal from Danny Mullen and penalty box finishes from Scott Wilson and Andy Russell.

The visitors had their best moment of the match in between the first and second goals when keeper Mark Hurst produced a superb full length diving save.

Jack Downie showed great persistence to notch our fifth goal ten minutes before the break and there were three further goals in the second half.

Danny Mullen dived bravely to head in his second of the day in the 64th minute, with sub Kyle Lander added the seventh and eighth goals late on.
