We fell to a 3-0 defeat against crack Romanian side Dinamo Bucuresti in the second match of our pre-season training camp in the north of England.
The scoreline doesn't tell the full story of a game which was competitive throughout, with our team giving as good as they got in the most part.
The difference between the sides was that Dinamo took their chances, whereas our best opportunities were missed.
In an often bad tempered first half, the first goal was 40 minutes in coming, although Dinamo missed chances before then, most notably when Connor McDonald headed a goalbound off the line with Kevin Walker beaten.
Marius Alexe got the goal when it came, neatly taking a throughball and sidestepping Walker before finishing from ten yards.
The second goal came with 16 minutes left, a cultured finish into the top corner by French striker Joel Thomas, once of Hamilton Accies.
We were unlucky not to pull a goal back shortly afterwards when one of our three trialists surged forward and created space for a shot which beat the Dinamo keeper but bounced off the base of the post to safety.
Dinamo rounded off their win with a last minute third goal when Romanian international Ionel Danciulescu clinically finished off a slick passing move inside the penalty area.
