John McGlynn boosted his last line of defence this morning with the signing of goalkeeper Paul Grant till January.

Although only 21, Paul is a product of Hibs’ Academy and was a key performer for the Easter Road club at youth level.  He made his first team debut in 2012 and was on the bench at Hampden for the 2012 Scottish Cup Final, so is no stranger to a big occasion.

With Kevin Walker’s pre-season injury taking longer than expected to recuperate from it’s been necessary to draft-in cover for regular stopper Darren Jamieson.

“We really need that experienced backup to see us over the period till January, when hopefully Kevin will be ready once again for selection” said McGlynn.

“And with Paul now on the scene he’ll give DJ some competition for the jersey into the bargain.”
