What a difference a few weeks makes!
After a spell of what can only be described as 'growing weather' the pitch at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium is looking almost good enough to play on!
Our groundsman Stuart Speirs gave the new grass surface it's first proper cut towards the end of last week, following a programme of works which began within hours of the final whistle sounding in the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup final on May 27.
With tons of sand forming a new base for the pitch, the drainage will be much improved - probably just as well with all the rain we're getting at the moment.
To aid drainage, the pitch has an in-built camber or slope so that water runs to the sides. It's hard to see from our photos, but the centre spot actually sits a whole twelve inches higher than the two touchlines!
