Chairman: 'We are not going under'

LIVINGSTON Chairman Angelo Massone has again issued a response to persistent rumours in the Scottish press regarding the stability and the future of the club.

The Chairman would like to reassure supporters once more that the club is not under threat of going into administration, nor does it face the possibility of being liquidated, contrary to media reports in recent days.

Massone has also called on the supporters of Livingston FC to work together with the club - not against it - to achieve its goals.

"We are not going 'under', despite what the newspapers are reporting about Livingston Football Club. I want our supporters to be sure of that fact. There is absolutely no possibility of this football club going into administration.

"My dedication to Livingston Football Club is clear. Over the past few months, I have made regular five-figure contributions from my own personal money, so that the club can continue to pay what it owes.

"In the last month alone, I have invested £50,000 of my own money to ensure the future of the club. I put in £30,000 at the beginning of this month, £5,000 a few days later and then £15,000 today. All of this my own money. I want the Livingston supporters to see these figures and see what contribution I am making.

"When I took over the club, I inherited debt from the previous owner and I am continuing to work to clear it.

"I am not going to walk away from the club. I remain 100% committed to the project. My dedication and faith in what we want to do has not changed, despite the countless obstacles we are encountering.

"My vision for the future of the club remains the same and we need our supporters to believe in us. Your support is essential for us to reach our goals. We share your desire to make Livingston an SPL club again, and for it to be back on a stage on which it belongs.

"If we have that backing from you, we will get there quicker. We must work together, not against each other, to achieve what we are capable of.

"Instead of constant criticism, we need the help of our supporters - and the West Lothian community as a whole - to make our club a success.

"We are counting on your continued support. And we also need our creditors to be understanding towards us as we try to pay them what they are due.

"Again, I reassure our loyal fans that Livingston Football Club is not in serious financial trouble and it is not facing going into administration."
