Livingston were inches away from recording their first victory in eight games, however were able to break their losing run following a 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock. Bruce Anderson came closest to breaking the deadlock, hitting the outside of the post from the penalty spot.
The hosts made one change from the side that were defeated by Hibs, with Jamie Brandon making way for Joel Nouble.
Livi started the brighter of the two sides and straight from kick off had a good opportunity. A throw in was nodded on to Nouble who beautifully beat his man before dinking the ball to the back post. It was too high for James Penrice however the clearance fell to Ayo Obileye, whose shot from the edge of the box was held well by William Dennis in the Killie goal.
Kilmarnock had a dangerous opportunity soon after Scott Pittman was adjudged to have fouled Danny Armstrong. The resultant free kick was swung in with Kyle Vassell getting his head to the ball but it wasn’t enough to direct it on target.
Vassell would again be the danger man for Kilmarnock, picking up the ball from midfield and driving down the left wing, the Killie skipper lashed a shot goal bound, with Shamal George saving with his face to keep the score goalless.
The visitors would have the first chance of the second half as well, a corner whipped in from the left looked like it should be comfortable for George who spilled, the ball falling to the feet of Vassell, whose clever footwork managed to work an opportunity for the shot, although this was tame and easy for the Livi keeper.
With the game approaching full time, Livi were thrown a golden opportunity to secure all three points. Pittman nicked the ball just outside the Kilmarnock box before Bruce Anderson fed the ball to Cristian Montano. He sent the ball wide to Penrice, whose crossed volley was cushioned on Kurtis Guthrie’s chest before an audacious overhead kick struck the arm of Stuart Findlay. Anderson stepped up and put Dennis the wrong way, however his shot crashed off the base of the post and out to condemn Livi to another goalless performance however with the positive of a point.
