It was honours even in Dingwall as Livingston and hosts Ross County battled out a 1-1 draw in an overcast day in the north of Scotland.
It was maybe one for the football purist with chances hard to find but it was Livingston who had the first chance after 25 minutes as Penrice delivered from wide, but Ayo Obileye’s header was off target and went over the bar.
There were 2 good chances for the hosts after this, firstly Simon Murray making Shamal George make a good save at his near post which went out for a corner kick. The second County chance of the half was an overhit cross from Josh Reid and it was dipping in at the back post, but De Lucas rose and headed off the line to keep the score at 0-0 at half time.
Into the second half and Nouble tested the goalkeeper on 46 minutes after an overlapping run from Obileye found Nouble but he couldn’t beat Laidlaw from a tight angle to break the deadlock.
The deadlock was broken by Ross County on 58 minutes after a clip delivery found Reid on the edge of the box who smashed towards goal and was smartly diverted by Simon Murray for 1-0 to Ross County much to the applause of the 3000 home supporters.
County held their nerve for just 13 minutes before Livingston equalised. Some super play and strength from substitute Kurtis Guthrie on the left side after he managed to get out of being manhandled by the County defender slipped it to Bruce Anderson. Bruce does what he does best and he moved the ball quickly from his right foot to his left and popped it through the legs of Ross Laidlaw for 1-1!
Bruce Anderson tried to win it on the 94th minute after being played through by Nouble but he got under the ball and fired over the bar.
