Celtic match preview

This weekend we are back at home as we face Celtic at the Home of the Set Arena. Both teams are coming into this game from different perspectives. We are coming off a 1-0 loss, and the visitors are coming off the back of a 3-1 win. So, we will be looking to overcome that result and get a positive result especially in front of the fans.
We are coming off a 1-0 loss away to St Mirren, after a goal from Mandron late in the second half. We look to build some momentum and hope to get back to winning ways especially after a disappointing result away from home and grab a positive result against challenging opposition.
Celtic is coming off a 3-1 win against Aberdeen, giving their new manager a first win after losing the first 4. The visitors scored 6 minutes before half-time through Nygren, then Aberdeen were reduced to 10 men. However, a Bilalovic equaliser for the 10-man team with 15 minutes to go gave the opposition a chance, late goals from Tierney and Forrest gave Celtic their first win under a struggling manager. Our visitors sit 2nd and have only won 2 of their last 5 domestic league games. They have scored 7 goals in their last 5 matches, conceding 8.
The key players for this match will be Scott Pittman who runs from midfield and attacking qualities will help get in behind a shaky backline. Another key player for this match will be Danny Wilson, who will be important in keeping our back line strong and stopping the visitors’ attack. Ryan McGowan will also return to the matchday squad after missing out last weekend due to his 1 match ban.
In the last 5 matches between the sides, it’s the visitors have had the upper hand by winning all 5. The last game was a 3-0 win back in August 2025. Our last win against our opponents was a 1-0 win back in September 2021. So, we will be looking to repeat that over our guests and grab a positive result at home in front of our fans.
