Dundee match preview
This weekend, we are back on the road again as we face Dundee FC at Dens Park. Both teams are coming into this game from defeats. We are coming off a 2-1 defeat, and the hosts are coming off a 1-0 loss. We look to overcome the result from midweek and hopefully turn it into 3 points this Saturday.
We are coming off a narrow 2-1 loss against Celtic. It took until the 15th minute for us to concede with Saracchi with the goal. Then, in the 57th minute, we were given a rare penalty at Celtic Park. Muirhead stepped up and slotted it in. It was looking like we were going to pick up a point away to the hosts, however as Celtic do, they scored late on with their new signing Oxlade- Chamberlain in the 91st. After a great performance, all the 3 points stayed in Glasgow. We have not won in the last 24 league matches, scoring 5 goals and conceding 13. We hope to get more points on the board and grab a positive result against a well-organised opposition.
Dundee is coming off a 1-0 loss against Falkirk. The first goal didn’t come until the 55th minute after Broggio gave Falkirk the lead in a pretty even game. Despite having the chance to equalise late on with a penalty, Dundee left with nothing. Our hosts have only won 1 in their last 5 games, they have scored 3 in their last 5 matches and have conceded 7. They will want to avoid a relegation battle and want to grab all 3 points at home.
The key players for this match will be Robbie Muirhead, who once again showed on Wednesday how important he is, scoring our penalty and creating some chances. Another key player for this match will be Jerome Prior, who put in a shift during midweek by making some great saves to keep us in the game. He will be crucial to help to keep the scoreline down and help us to get over the line against a team who have not been scoring many of late.
In the last 5 matches between the sides, it’s the hosts who have the upper hand, winning 4 of the 5 last matches, with 1 draw. The last game was a 2-2 draw back in December 2025. Our last win against our opponents was a 2-1 win back in May 2022 at home. So, we will be looking to repeat that over our hosts, grab a positive result, with a positive performance and climb up that league table.
