East Fife 1-2 Livingston
It was a winning start to Livi’s competitive season with a hard-fought win in Methil. Goals from Robbie Muirhead and Macaulay Tait either side of the break were enough to secure the points.
Robbie Muirhead gave the visitors the lead from close range in first-half added time before Hearts loanee Macaulay Tait extended their advantage from similar distance in the opening minutes of the second period.
The promotion play-off winners were pegged back by Pat Slattery’s goal from outside the area but held on to their narrow lead at Bayview Stadium.
East Fife’s Mamadou Bah was sent off for a second bookable offence deep into added time.
Elsewhere in Group H, Kilmarnock won 2-0 at Brora Rangers.
Livi visit Killie on Wednesday (19:45 BST).
