Falkirk match preview
This weekend marks our first game in the league at home in the Premiership as we host Falkirk at The Home of the Set Arena. Both teams come into this fixture after each securing draws on the opening day of the league campaign.
We are coming off a decent 2-2 away to Kilmarnock. Despite controlling most of the 1st half, we came in 2-0 down. The team managed to show great fight and spirit to come back and secure a draw. The goals came from Robbie Muirhead from the spot and Scott Pittman. We have won 3 out of the last 5 matches and scored 12 goals during that run and kept 2 clean sheets, with the positive start we have made to the league, we will be looking to continue the season off well with a win at home.
Falkirk also come into this game off the back of a 2-2 home draw against Dundee United, coming from behind twice to level the match. They have scored 16 goals in their last 5 matches, have kept 3 clean sheets during that run and are unbeaten in their last 6.
A key player for us in this match will be Robbie Muirhead who seems to have continued his goalscoring form from last season. Another key player will be Lewis Smith who had a significant impact off the bench, assisting for Scott Pittman’s goal. He will be hoping to have a positive contribution again this weekend.
In the last 5 matches between both sides, we have the upper hand by winning 4 of the last 5 matches, drawing only 1. The last game was a 1-0 win back in March, in the Championship with Andrew Shinnie scoring a late winner against the visitors. So, we will be looking to continue the momentum we are on and grab the 3 points at home.
