Hearts match preview
This weekend we return home to face Heart of Midlothian at the Home of the Set Arena.
We are coming off a 3-0 away loss against Celtic, after putting in a brilliant first half we conceded just 2 minutes into the second half, giving us our first league defeat of the season. We have won 2 out of the last 5 matches and scored 11 goals during that run and kept 1 clean sheet, sitting in 4th in the league. We look to bounce back from that defeat and continue that strong start to the season with a positive result against a tough opposition.
Hearts is coming off a 3-3 home draw against Motherwell, coming from 3 nil down and making an impressive comeback to grab the point. They have scored 12 goals in their last 5 matches, have kept 2 clean sheets during that run too but also haven’t lost to us in the last in the last 5 matches. A key player for Hearts will be Claudio Braga who netted 2 goals against Motherwell last week. Former Livingston players, Craig Halket and Alan Forrest will return to face their old club.
The key players for Livingston in this match will be Jerome Prior, who made a sensational save last weekend against the champions and Dan Finlayson, who has had a strong start to the season. His aerial presence down that right-hand side will help us be defensively strong. Unfortunately, we will be missing Macaulay Tait as he is unable to play against his parent club.
In the last 5 matches between the sides, the visitors have the upper hand by winning 3 of the last 5 matches and drawing twice. The last game was a 4-2 loss back in April 2024. Our last win against the visitors came in September 2022, when we secured a 1-0 win at home. So, we will be looking to get a win over the Edinburgh side and get a positive result at home.
