Hearts match preview
This weekend we are back on the road as we face league leaders Hearts at Tynecastle. Both teams are coming into this game from losses. We are coming off a 3-1 loss, and Hearts are coming from a 3-2 loss. We will be looking to overcome that result and get a positive result.
We are coming off a 3-1 home loss against Dundee United. A goal from Sapsford gave the visitors the lead in the 33rd. The 2nd half saw a lot of changes and chances, we were still in the game, however an own goal in the 86th and a Fatah goal in the 90th minute, gave us our 12th league defeat of the season. A consolation goal by McLennan in the 91st was not enough for a comeback. We have not won in the last 17 league matches and have scored 5 goals during that run and have conceded 10. We hope to get back to winning ways especially after a disappointing result at home and grab a positive result against the League leaders at a tough away ground.
Hearts is coming off a 3-2 derby day defeat at the hands of Hibernian. They conceded a goal within the first 3 minutes of the game through McGrath, then a goal scored on the stroke of halftime by Campbell, which seemed a long way back for the hosts. A Bowie 48th minute certainly seemed like so, a Shankland 75th minute goal then followed up by a Devlin 89th minute goal nearly salvaged Hearts at least a point. However, they failed to take the late chances. Our hosts sit in 1st, having won 3 of their last 5 domestic league games. They have scored 9 goals in their last 5 matches, conceding 6.
The key players for this match will be Cristian Montano, who grabbed an assist during the week and continued his impressive form. His defensive abilities will be needed more against the league leaders, but his attacking qualities can be called upon when required. Another key player for this match will be Danny Wilson, who grabbed the recent Player of the Match, his leadership will be important to keep that back line tight and he will hope to cause an upset against his former team.
In the last 5 matches between the sides, it’s the hosts who have the upper hand by winning 4 with 1 draw. The last game was a narrow 2-1 defeat back in August 2025. Our last win against our opponents was a 1-0 win back in September 2022. So, we will be looking to repeat that a positive result.
