Incident following Saturday’s victory
Livingston FC was saddened to hear of a terrible incident following Saturday’s match where one of our elderly supporters had his bag, containing merchandise he’d purchased from the club shop earlier in the day, snatched from his hand after leaving the ground by a group of visiting youths.
We’ve since been in touch with the supporter to check in and make sure he’s OK following the incident and despite being shaken up, he’s all set and looking forward to Saturday’s trip to Dingwall!
Having initially liaised with our club shop partner The Soccer Shop:Direct, the club and TSSD had agreed to replace the goods that were stolen from the supporter however, St Mirren FC have since been in touch to offer their sincere apologies to the supporter in question and have themselves offered to cover those costs.
With LFC and TSSD having already agreed to take care of this, the money from St Mirren will be donated to local group Kick Mental Health to ensure there’s an even greater benefit to the kind gesture.
Our thanks go to both Paul Dragsnes from The Soccer Shop:Direct and Keith Lasley from St Mirren FC for their kindness in working to make the best of bad situations and we reiterate that the behaviour of a tiny minority does not represent the wider support of Saturday’s visitors, many of whom, along with our fans, have been in touch with offers of support too.
