Kilmarnock match preview
This weekend marks our first game back in the Premiership as we travel to face Kilmarnock at The BBSP Stadium Rugby Park. Both teams come into this fixture in good form, as each team managed to progress to the next round of the League Cup from the same group.
We are coming off a strong 6-0 home win over Kelty Hearts, having won 3 out of 4 league cup matches. We have scored 12 goals during that run and kept 2 clean sheets, with the positive start we have made, we will be looking to start the season off well with a win away from home.
Kilmarnock is coming off a 4-0 home win against East Fife, to top the League Cup group, so they will also be looking to kick off their season well especially being at home. They have scored 7 goals in their last 5 matches and have kept 4 clean sheets during that run too.
We have a number of new additions who we hope will play a crucial part in our new season. New signings such as Graham Carey who was up for the POTM award, his presence in the midfield has adds a new dynamic to that area of the pitch. Another key and player to look out for this match and this season will be Sam Culbert, who won our Player of the Month award for his performances in the League Cup. He’s a player who has come through the Livingston academy who seems to have fitted in well and he will be looking to continue to thrive in that full back role and contribute many more brilliant performances this season.
In the last 5 matches between both sides, the hosts have the upper hand by winning 4 of the last 5 matches, drawing only 1. Our last trip to Kilmarnock was only a short time ago, despite a good team performance, we came away with a 1-0 defeat. We will be looking to avenge that and grab the 3 points away from home and get our season off to a good start.
