Livingston FC partners with One Million Lives
Livingston FC is delighted to have partnered with One Million Lives by Jacobs, to help to support and spread the word of the free mental health check-in tool and resources.
Positive mental health and wellbeing is at the heart of One Million Lives. We know that it can be difficult to understand the many factors that contribute to overall mental health. To help better understand these complexities, Jacobs and mental health professionals have developed a free mental health check-in tool to help users assess their current state of mind and provide proactive strategies for personal mental health development.
The check-in tool is a web-based application and can be accessed through all standard web browsers on computers or mobile devices. Users can create an anonymized account, and once logged in can opt to take a quick or full check-in. Users will be asked a series of questions about their mental health to assess how they are currently coping. Once the check-in is complete, users will be able to view their results and explore suggestions for how to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
The vision of One Million Lives by Jacobs is to start a movement that reaches over one million people globally by:
- Equipping people with a tool to understand and improve their mental health, creating ripple effects as we encourage sharing it with friends, family and colleagues.
- Encouraging open conversation about mental health and knowledge sharing to reduce stigma.
- Creating a legacy that people are excited and proud to be a part of.
As part of the partnership, the first-team squad will proudly have the One Million Lives logo added to their tracksuit jackets, polo-shirts, sweat tops and warm-up shirts to continue to help highlight the campaign. Keep your eye out for the logo in upcoming press conferences, live streams and highlight packages, and try the One Million Lives check-in for yourself.
Club Business Development Manager Dave Black said: “I had a brilliant conversation with Jacobs Global Vice President Paul Hendry early last week to see what the football club could do to help get on board with One Million Lives and spread the word amongst the staff and players initially, but then throughout the community of West Lothian.
“The check-in tools allow anyone to simply answer questions and based on the responses given, provides tailored options for support regardless of where you’re deemed to be personally. This will help a significant number of people get the support they may not have known was available to them, and it can all be done from the comfort of your own home. I’m delighted that we can support the initiative.”
Livingston FC Chief Executive John Ward said: “Before engaging with this initiative, I used the tool. It was a great way of checking in where I am personally with my mental health and then seeing what resources were being suggested to me and how robust they were.
“All of us will have emotional, self-esteem or depressive episodes at some stage in our lives. Making this available to our community and friends is very positive and I thank Jacobs for including Livingston FC in the roll out.”
Donald Morrison, Jacobs People & Places Solutions Senior Vice President Europe and Digital Strategies said: “We were delighted when Livingston FC embraced the One Million Lives app and campaign. Looking after your mental health is important whether you are part of a large company like Jacobs or a community football club like Livingston.
