Livingston WFC 5-0 East Fife WFC

The Lionesses continued to build their run of form this winter with a dominant 5-0 victory over second-bottom side East Fife.
Livingston got straight to work and had the visiting defence reeling early as Nicole Cairney’s low cross was directed into the net by East Fife’s Amy Campbell after 5 minutes. It didn’t take long for a Livi player to get on the scoresheet, as Justine Strain fired in her 10th goal in 18 appearances minutes later with a clinical finish in the penalty area.
The home side looked to have East Fife in the rearview mirror when Jess Murphy headed Rachel Walkingshaw’s free-kick past Anderson for 3-0 after 15 minutes.
The visitors would struggle to mount much offence in the first half against a Livingston side that wanted every ball. Just shy of half-time, Seren McCulloch chased down an overhit through ball to round Anderson before producing a composed finish for her 2nd goal of the campaign. Minutes later, a close-range save from Gibney at the other end sealed a 4-0 scoreline going into the break.
A composed Livi side controlled the second half and continued to create chances, with Nicole Cairney and Emily Moran coming close to extending the goal tally.
Late changes included a home debut for returning forward Dionne Brown and a full debut for new signing Eryn Brown, who joined the fray minutes before substitute Shivohn Honeyman made her mark on the game with an absolute missile from outside the box to make it 5-0; an excellent way to claim a first goal in amber and black.
The Lionesses will look to carry the positives from a great home win into a meeting with St. Johnstone in Perth, as their league campaign continues at the weekend.
