Livingston hit Stirling University for six at home in a first half goal-fest.

It took Justine Strain just over five minutes to find herself one-on-one with Davidson, and she produced a composed finish to open the scoring. Stirling would respond with a couple of promising ventures forward through winger Tanaka Chitengu, but the it was the Lionesses that scored again as Jaya Gill fizzed a cross into the 6-yard box for Justine Strain to dispatch for 2-0. Livi quickly added another through Seren McCulloch, the forward battling well up front to win the ball and slot past Davidson to make for 3-0.

Livi would continue to steamroll forward in the first half, and Justine Strain completed her hat trick with 38 minutes played, finishing another 1v1 for her 8th goal of the season. Livi would gain a corner minutes after and Megan Whiteford netted Livi’s fifth in spectacular fashion as she found Stirling’s top corner straight from the set piece. A dismantled Stirling defence conceded a penalty just before the end of the half, and skipper Rachel Walkingshaw had no problem converting to make it six for Livi going into the break.

Stirling would make five of their changes during half-time, but Livi were out for much of the same as Megan Whiteford forced makeshift keeper Chitengu into an impressive fingertip save from range with a chip from outside of the box. A few more efforts from range were not enough to add to the mammoth scoreline, as Livingston continued to move the ball down the park but were not afforded the entries into the box they saw in the first half. The Lionesses held out for the clean sheet to cap off an overall impressive outing at home.

The Lionesses look to host Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup in a fortnight and build on some positive home form.
