Welcome Home | Shinnie & Hamilton sign on
It’s been a busy off season for David Martindale and his staff, with six new faces joining the club over the last couple of weeks. With the playing squad already really starting to take shape, this was further bolstered by the extensions of two Livingston stalwarts.
The first of these is the one-year extension of Andrew Shinnie. A fan favourite best known for his crucial goals in moments that matter, Shinnie re-joined the club late last year to help the Lions bounce straight back up from the disappointment of relegation.
A versatile player capable of playing across midfield and as a striker, Andrew added a wealth of experience last season from the bench, where notched up 42 appearances and scoring fives goals, including that last gasp extra time goal in Dingwall to fire the Lions to the quarter finals of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup, a Goal of the Season nominee against Airdrieonians, and of course a goal in that record breaking SPFL Trust Trophy final triumph over Queens Park in Grangemouth.
Of course, Shinnie has been with us since 2021, joining from Charlton Athletic and going on to play 158 games in Livi colours so far, scoring 13 in all competitions, never forgetting that strike in 2021 to win against Celtic for only the second time in our history.
Also joining Andrew in renewing his contract is goalkeeper Jack Hamilton. Signing on for a further two years in West Lothian, Jack will provide back up to Jerome Prior and competition for the number 1 shirt.
Jack continues his second spell at Livi, rejoining in January from Ross County, and has been invaluable around the club as well as sharing his knowledge and experience with the younger keepers in the squad, being part of the SPFL Trust Trophy winning squad, and part of the squad who won promotion back to the Premiership.
Hamilton started his Livingston career back in 2022 where he joined from Greenock Morton to provide support to then keeper Shamal George. He made 8 appearances in all competitions for Livi before making the move to the Highlands with Ross County. Jack has a plethora of experience in Scottish Football, with Hearts, Forfar Athletic, East Fife, Stenhousemuir and Dundee all on the CV for the 31 year old.
Welcome back to the Home of the Set Fare Arena guys!
