Salim Kouider-Aïssa joins Partick Thistle on loan
Livingston FC can announce that striker Salim Kouider-Aïssa has tonight joined Scottish League One side Partick Thistle on loan for the 2020/21 season.
Salim joined the club in the Summer from League Two side Queens Park, where he helped himself to 17 goals in 36 appearances for the Spiders before the season was cut short. He’s since featured 4 times from the bench for the Lions this season, most recently for the final stages of Saturday’s clash with Hamilton.
Thistle were one of the sides who suffered most from the premature finish to the 2019/20 season, with relegation from the Championship to League 1 despite being only 2 points behind 9th place Queen of the South with a game in hand.
Manager Ian McCall has added experience to the squad in former Livingston player Ross Docherty and ex-Rangers defender Ricky Foster as the Firhill side look to bounce back to the second tier at the first attempt.
Head of Football Operations David Martindale said:
“Salim came in to the club on trial during the summer and did very well. A loan move was always part of the progression plan.
“When signing, we spoke in depth about the possibilities that lay ahead. A loan option to either the Championship or a top end League 1 club was always part of that plan.
“Salim will be out playing football in a pressurised environment in a very competitive league which will be great for him.
“It’s a progression from League 2 last season and I have absolutely no doubt that Salim will come back a better player for it.”
Good luck, Sal!
