Defensive duo jump aboard
Two more new faces were welcomed into the Energy Assets Arena this morning as Ben Gordon and Ross Millen penned deals for the upcoming campaign.
Ben is no stranger to Livi, having served as Alloa Athletic’s captain last season, racking-up a total of 134 appearances for the Wasps since joining them from Dumbarton in 2011. The 29 year old centre back brings a wealth of experience to the club and will help bolster the new-look defence.
“Ben is a player I’ve wanted to sign ever since I became manager” said an enthusiastic Mark Burchill.
“He’s a natural leader on and off the park and captained Alloa to successive League titles on the way to the Championship.”
Joining him is 20 year old defender Ross Millen. Ross may not be quite so familiar to the Lions faithful having spent the bulk of his senior career at League 1 side Dunfermline Athletic. But at 6’2″ he’ll add height to the back four, as well as making the odd foray up-field.
“Ross is a player I’ve watched and known for several years” said Burchill.
“He’s very experienced for his young age: a real ball-playing full back with a fantastic engine.
“We’re delighted to bring both of them into our squad, and after a lot of hard work behind the scenes, we beat off a lot of competition to secure their services.”
Welcome aboard, gentlemen!
