Welcome to Livi Ricki Lamie
The new signings continued this evening with the arrival at the Tony Macaroni Arena of former Morton defender Ricki Lamie.
Interim Manager David Martindale said “I am really happy to secure Ricki’s signature as there were a few clubs chasing him, and it’s satisfying to know he has chosen Livingston to continue his development.
“Ricki is actually a Livi fan and it’s always that little bit easier getting deals over the line when a player has an emotional attachment to the club. Despite hailing from Harthill he somehow managed to end-up supporting the Lions, but it’s helped secure his signatures, so it’s ideal for us.
“He’s is big, strong and powerful and can play left Centre Half or Left Back. He has a great left foot and will bring balance to the back four, being able to play in a 3 or a 4 comfortably.
“Ricki has played over 100 games in the Championship and is a good age, turning 25 late June. So he has plenty experience at a very good level.
Personally I think there is a lot more to come from Ricki, hence why I was so keen to secure his signature. Along with everything we do at the club, I have no doubt Ricki’s game will improve considerably.
“I always try to bring players into the club that we feel we will help improve their overall game through coaching, strength and conditioning programmes, dietary education or a variety of all 3.
“We’re well aware of the rigours of the Premiership and are continuing to work tirelessly on player recruitment and retention to ensure greater depth to the squad in the top flight.”
