Alan Forrest: Pre-Contract Agreement
Livingston FC is delighted to announce the pre-contract signing of attacker Alan Forrest from Championship side, Ayr United.
Alan will officially join the club on an initial two-year-deal when his contract expires with Ayr United in June. The agreement was reached during the January transfer window but to allow full focus on the remainder of the season for both Alan and Ayr United, an announcement was deferred.
The 23-year old joins after 7 seasons at Somerset Park, racking up 244 appearances and scoring 55 goals. The first of those 55 goals came on his debut as a 16-year-old, coming off the bench to grab an 89th minute winner at Hampden in a League Cup win away to Queens Park.
This season has been his most fruitful to date, hitting double figures for the first-time and sitting 3rd in the Championship scoring charts – this, of course, with at least 9 games not as yet played.
With a number of clubs fighting for his signature, the coaching team are hugely excited to get Alan to the club – and Alan is equally as pleased to be here.
“I’m delighted to sign. It’s a new challenge for me having been at Ayr for a number of years now. I’ve had lots of good times there and we’ve had a couple of really good seasons in the Championship but I’m delighted to get this over the line.
“I’ve not played in the top flight before so really looking forward to that. The step-up will be different for me – harder than what I’ve maybe been used to but I’ll absolutely give it my all.”
We also grabbed a word with Alan over video call earlier this week and we’ll have that available for you all to view later this evening – keep an eye on our social media channels.
In the meantime, we’re sure you all join us in welcoming Alan to the club and we can’t wait to see him in action when we get back to playing football.
Welcome to Livingston, Alan!
