Cove Rangers match preview
This Saturday, we will be back home at the Home of the Set Fair Arena to face League 1 side Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup 5th Round, for our second cup game this week. Both teams come into this game after wins. We secured a hard fought 2-2 away win over Dunfermline Athletic to book our spot in the SPFL Trust Trophy final. Cove Rangers secured a 2-1 home win against Arbroath. We turn our focus from one cup game to the next this weekend.
We have been on a good run of form of late winning 5 out of our last 5 games and have managed to overcome some tricky games. We are looking to maintain our good home form and progress to the next round of the Scottish Cup.
Cove Rangers come into this game after a home win, with 4 wins and 1 loss in their last five games. They have scored 12 goals in their last 5 games and have only conceded 3 goals within those 5 games.
A player who keeps on improving is Robbie Muirhead who is up for the Specialized Signs Player of the Month for January. Once again grabbing another goal midweek to help us get through to Final. Another key player is Tete Yengi who has just returned from injury and managed to score the second goal in our win over Dunfermline after being brought on as a second half substitute. He will be looking to contribute more and help us secure our place in the next round of the Scottish Cup.
We’ve only faced Cove Rangers 3 times and within those three meetings between the two sides, we’ve had the upper hand by winning all 3 fixtures. Our previous fixture against Cove Rangers saw us win 2-0 in the League Cup group stage in July. We have scored 12 goals in our last 5 matches so we will be looking to maintain that goalscoring run and grabbing a spot in Scottish Cup Quarter Final.
