Dundee Utd match preview
This weekend, we are back up to Dundee as we face Dundee United at Tannadice, which is our last away game in the Premiership. Both teams are coming into this game from losses. We are coming off a 3-0 loss, and the hosts are coming off a 2-0 loss. As we look to our last remaining games in the Premiership, we aim to end on a positive note.
We are coming off a 3-0 loss against Dundee. The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute through Congreve’s close-range effort. However, we did have a chance to equalise just before half-time, but Nouble’s shot went just wide. More missed chances early in the second half were punished as the hosts extended their lead through Robertson’s left-footed shot in the 71st. However, we did have a great chance to get back into the game as Smith was fouled in the box. Muirhead stepped up to take it, but O’Hara saved his penalty. Then just minutes later Dundee secured all 3 points as Hay’s header hit the back of the net following a second phase from a corner, so we left Dundee empty-handed.
Dundee United is coming off a 2-0 loss against Aberdeen. The visitors saw themselves 1-0 down early on through Armstrong’s shot from the center of the box in the 19th minute. There was not much action in the second half until Agyei was sent off following a second yellow in the 84th minute, so he will be missing this game. Then the hosts secured all the points just a few minutes later through Olusanya’s shot, hitting the top corner of the net. Our hosts have won 2 in their last 5 games, they have scored 8 in their las 5 matches and have conceded 11.
The key players for this match will be Lewis Smith, his creativity and his pace caused real problems last time out against Dundee United and he will be looking to cause further problems in this fixture. Another key player for this match will be Danny Wilson, as the hosts do have a threat up front, he will be important to stopping those attacks His defensive and leadership qualities will be crucial to helping get us over the line, so we can end the season well.
In the last 5 matches between the sides, it’s the hosts who have the upper hand having won 3 of the 5 matches, with 1 draw and 1 win for us. The last game was a 3-2 loss back in April 2026. Our last win against our opponents was a 2-1 win back in May 2023 at home. So, we will be looking to repeat that over our hosts, and try to finish the last 2 remaining games with positivity and great performances.
