Dunfermline match preview
This Wednesday, we will be travelling to KDM Group East End Park to face Dunfermline Athletic in the SPFL Trust Trophy Semi Final. Both teams come into this game after wins during the weekends league action.
We secured a 2-1 hard fought away win against Falkirk, while Dunfermline Athletic secured a 3-1 home win against Raith Rovers. We now turn our focus to cup action this midweek.
We have been on a good run of form of late winning 4 out of our last 5 games and have managed to overcome some tough opponents and now we are back on the road to compete against a challenging opponent. We will be looking to maintain our strong away form and book our place in the SPFL Trust Trophy final.
Dunfermline Athletic come into this game after a home win, with 3 wins and 2 losses in their last five games. They have scored 10 goals in their last 5 games but have conceded 7 goals within those 5 games.
A player who has been impressive recently is Robbie Muirhead who is up for the Specialized Signs Player of the Month for January. He managed to add another goal to his name at the weekend from the penalty spot and he will be looking to add more against Dunfermline.
Another key player and another POTM nominee is Reece McAlear who has had a recent upturn in form, putting in some brilliant performances and netting again against Falkirk last weekend.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, it’s been fairly even with both winning 2 games each and 1 draw. Our previous fixture against Dunfermline Athletic in the league saw us lose 3-0 in October. However, we did record a 2-0 win at home in the first game of the season.
We are currently ranked 2nd away from home in the Championship, and we have scored 10 goals in our last 5 matches so we will be looking to maintain that goalscoring run and grabbing a spot in the final.
