Dunfermline match preview
This weekend, we are on the road as we face Dunfermline Athletic at the KDM Group East End Park. Both teams are coming into this game from different perspectives. We are coming off a 2-1 loss, and the hosts are coming off a 1-1 draw. We look to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing result and get a positive result away from home.
We are coming off a 2-1 loss against Partick Thistle. The visitors took the lead through a cross ball and Reading was at the back post to tap it in. However, we did get the equaliser just before half-time through Van Hoeven from a Jack Wilkie cross. Into the second half, the visitors started brightly forcing Prior into an early save to stop a counterattack. However, the Glasgow side did take the lead, after an initial shot was blocked, Reading’s shot was turned in from Watt. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the equaliser and the visitors left with all 3 points. We have scored 10 goals and conceded 6 in our last 6 games. We’ll look to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing result and get a positive result away from home.
Dunfermline Athletic is coming off a 1-1 away draw against Ayr United. The action came in the second half, when the visitors took the lead through a penalty after a foul made by McBeth. Cooper stepped up to take it and slotted past the keeper to give them the advantage. However, their lead did not last long as the hosts equalised through a set piece scored by Holt. No one could capitalise on their chances and both teams shared the spoils. The Pars have scored 6 in their last 5 matches and have conceded 2 goals. Our hosts who sit below us on the same number of points, will be looking to leapfrog us in the league table.
The key players to look out for this match will be Scott Pittman, who was given the Player of the Match award last time out for his strong display during last weekend’s loss. He will be looking to contribute as much as possible against a side who are not leaking many goals in. Another one to look out for is Bradly van Hoeven, who was our lone goal scorer last weekend, he will be looking to use his pace and creativity to be a threat against a solid defence.
In our last 5 games against the opponents, it’s been even between the two sides with 2 wins each and a draw. Last time out was an impressive 2-0 win back in August 2026. So, we will repeat that result over our hosts, bounce back from last week and grab a positive result at a tricky away venue.
