East Stirlingshire and Arbroath to visit the Tony Macaroni Arena
As preparations continue for the 2021/22 season, Lowland League side East Stirlingshire and Championship outfit Arbroath will both visit the Tony Macaroni Arena for closed door pre-season friendlies over the coming days.
Saturday will see us take on East Stirlingshire at 3pm with Dick Campbell’s Arbroath side providing the opposition on Monday evening at 7.30pm.
There will be former Lions in both sides with Kieran Gibbons currently playing for East Stirlingshire and both Jason Thomson and Michael McKenna at Arbroath.
With over two weeks of pre-season training already in the legs of the players, these fixtures offer an opportunity for some game time ahead of the trip to Brechin for our Premier Sports Cup opener next weekend.
These games are being played behind closed doors due to the lateness of confirmation of both fixtures and thus, not allowing for full operational plans to be confirmed ahead of either.
Additionally, we are awaiting final approval on our return to spectators operational plans being given the go ahead by the local strategic advisory group and local council. It goes without saying but we want to ensure that our stadium is as safe as physically possible for your return.
We cannot wait to welcome you back to the Tony Macaroni Arena on Wednesday 21st July for our first home game of the Premier Sports Cup against Raith Rovers with ticket details on those to follow in due course.
