Falkirk match preview
This Saturday, we will be back at The Home of the Set Fare Arena for a second time this week to face Falkirk in the league in a 1st vs 2nd encounter. Both teams come into this game off the back of wins, Falkirk at the weekend in the league and us with victory in the SPFL Trust Trophy to get us to the semi-finals.
We have been on a good run of form of late and managed to overcome difficult teams. Last weekend saw us put 3 past Hamilton with 3 different scorers and Tuesday saw us win 2-1 at home to Greenock Morton to progress in the SPFL Trust Trophy. We are looking for 3 wins in a row to close the gap at the top.
Falkirk are coming into this game after a home win, with 4 wins, and only 1 draw in their last five games. They have scored 14 goals in their last 5 games so they will be looking to continue that goal scoring run. A win for Falkirk tomorrow could see them go 9 points clear of us.
Tuesday gave us an opportunity to change up the starting 11 and include those who haven’t received many minutes. Reece McAlear was one of those who took his opportunity as he gave a Man of the Match performance so he will be looking to continue his upturn in form. Stevie May also scored his 3rd goal in 3 games for the lions after making an impact off the bench and scoring on Tuesday night.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, Livingston have won 2 of the 5 games and suffering just 1 defeat. The last encounter saw a 0-0 draw at the Falkirk Stadium in the league last month. Despite the goalless draw, it was an entertaining game so we will be hoping for the same tomorrow as the top 2 come up against each other.
