Livingston FC join over 200 clubs for International Missing Children’s Day campaign.

Over 200 football clubs from six different continents have pledged to support the Football Cares initiative on International Missing Children’s Day.  

The project, which was set up by Italian giants AS Roma for the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, with support from the European Club Association (ECA), aims to take advantage of the incredible reach of football clubs on Twitter to raise awareness about 101 children currently separated from their loved ones around the world.

In Scotland, 9 clubs, including ourselves, Celtic, Rangers & St Johnstone, signed up to support the campaign.

In England, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool & Tottenham are just some of the many clubs who will share a video featuring missing children on Monday.

Elsewhere across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Australasia and Asia, clubs big and small have all put rivalries aside for a day to support the Football Cares cause.

Of the top 20 most followed clubs in the world on Twitter, 17 have already agreed to participate in the campaign today, including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona., PSG, Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, Al-Ahli, Flamengo and Corinthians.

The campaign is also being backed by FIFA, MLS, CONCACAF and many leagues and governing bodies across the world.

Here in the UK, Missing People will host a Football Cares video featuring six British children, while in the United States, the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) will host two Football Cares videos featuring 12 American children.
