Inverness match preview
This Saturday, we host Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the Home of the Seat Arena in a 4th round SPFL Trust Trophy encounter. The League One side head to Livingston hoping to cause a cup upset.
We head into this one off the back of a hard-fought 0-0 draw away to Falkirk which saw us keep our 5th clean sheet in the last 6 matches. We now turn our attention to the SPFL Trust Trophy. Last time out in this competition we defeated The Spartans 2-0 with second half goals from Stevie May and Lewis Smith. We now want to maintain our strong start to the season and progress into the quarter final.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle beat Stirling Albion 3-0 in the previous round however, they are coming into this game off the back of a league defeat away to Arbroath and with 1 win in their last 5. They have failed to score in their last two matches and haven’t won an away game in their last 9. They will be aiming to end that drought.
Stevie May will be looking to add another goal to his tally in this competition. 2 other key players for us recently have been centre backs Michael Nottingham and Ryan McGowan. Both players have been vital for us so far this season and will be aiming to keep up their form.
In the last five meetings between the two sides, Inverness have the upper hand, winning 4 out of 5 and 1 draw. The last encounter saw a 3-0 loss for the lions in the Scottish Cup in 2023. It will be the first time the sides have played each other since then.
