Irn-Bru Cup action this Tuesday
You don’t need to wait too long for our next match action at The Tony Macaroni Arena as our “Colts” side play host to Forfar Athletic this coming Tuesday (14th August) night in the 1st Round of the Irn-Bru Cup.
With our return to the Premiership, the first team have the night off for this one with the competition now seeing all 12 Premiership sides enter a Colts/U21 team into the first round.
In a slight change to the rules, Colts teams will now be able to feature U21 players – an increase from the previous U20 rule. Another rule change to the competition this season is that all games, up to and including the quarter-finals, that finish all square will go straight to penalties, missing out extra-time.
Our visitors on Tuesday, Forfar Athletic, will be coming here off the back of a terrific 2-0 league win over Dumbarton at the weekend and hoping to go one better in this cup than last season when they bowed out at this stage to Ross County Colts.
Admission for this match has been reduced, with agreement from the visitors, and prices will be as follows –
Adults – £5
U16 & O65 – £2
The draw for the second round will take place on Thursday 16th August at 1pm and will be live on the SPFL Facebook page.
