Livingston succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday. Goals from Natasha Frew and Courtney McAvoy were consolations in a tough game against the Ayrshire side.

Manager Mike Ross made six changes from last week’s win over Stirling University, with last weekend’s scorers Raewyn Murphy and Shannon Mulligan missing from the matchday squad.

It was a perfect start for Livingston as they took the lead within 5 minutes. A long free kick from Natasha Frew lobbed the Kilmarnock goalkeeper to give the away side an early lead.

Despite Frew’s best efforts, the score would soon be level as Reside tapped in from close range. Frew had blocked a first attempt, with the ball falling kindly to Reside who had an empty net at her mercy.

Livingston keeper Molly Reeve made a pair of fantastic saves to keep things level, with an incredible tip onto the post from a long range Kilmarnock effort.

However, Killie would soon get their second goal shortly before half time. Livingston had to deal with multiple crosses before one eventually found Healy at the back post headed beyond Reeve and give the home side the lead.

Kilmarnock added a third only minutes after half time, with a loose ball being picked up by McLintock who made no mistake with her one on one.

Substitute Courtney McAvoy almost made an immediate impact, with her header hitting the bar from a corner kick.

Reside would soon add a fourth for the home side and her second, finishing another one on one against Reeve.

A late comeback seemed to possibly be brewing as McAvoy clawed a goal back, with a nice looping effort. However, the away side were unable to carve many more opportunities as the home side ran out 4-2 winners.

Livingston are back in action in two weeks time, when they host Glasgow Women at the Tony Macaroni Arena on November 5th.
