LFL Supporters Trust donation ahead of trip to Dingwall
We’d like to put on record our thanks to the Livi for Life Supporters Trust who have made a donation to the club to assist with travel costs for tomorrow’s trip to Dingwall.
After the draw was made for this round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup, the Trust got in touch with the club to see how they could assist with the expense of the trip and after discussion, offered to support by covering the travel costs for the journey north.
With that support, it has allowed the club to then make the decision to travel this evening, staying in Inverness tonight before travelling to Dingwall ahead of kick-off tomorrow, giving the players the best possible preparation going into the tie.
LFL Supporters Trust Chair David Wood said: “A trip to the highlands to face Ross County in the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup is probably one of, if not the worst, away trips we could have got for financial reasons. Indeed, David Martindale, tongue firmly in cheek, stated that the away tie to Ross County would probably cost the club money.
“For the fans, a trip to Dingwall is something we were not expecting. The Livi for Life Supporters Trust are happy to provide this small financial assistance to the club and we are looking to continue to work with the club in any way we can, both now and in the future.”
Livingston FC Chief Executive Officer Dave Black added: “We’re delighted to receive this support from the Trust ahead of tomorrow’s cup tie in the Highlands. It’s an expensive tie and whilst we’re looking forward to the challenge of taking on a Premiership side again, we were conscious of the costs involved but this gesture has helped significantly, but more than that, goes a long way to showing the further strengthening in the relationship between the club and the Trust over recent months.
“The club and Trust continue to meet and communicate on further ways to support each other and hope to grow that relationship further over the season and beyond.
“Our thanks to the board of the Trust for reaching out and supporting with this – the club board, staff and players are all incredibly grateful.”
Again, a big thank you to the board and members of Livi for Life Supporters Trust, safe travels to everyone making the trip tonight or tomorrow and we hope you all enjoy the game!
