Livingston 1-1 St Mirren
Livingston were minutes away from being joint top of the Scottish Premiership before a cruel equaliser saw a score draw against St Mirren at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Luiyi De Lucas’ 89th minute strike looked to have sealed a good win against an inform St Mirren team, however a sickening 96th minute goal from Stav Nahmani ensured the Buddies took a point back to Paisley.
It was a drab first half with not much in the way of chances, with St Mirren midfielder Keanu Baccus probably feeling he should have done better with a header which was way off target after a nice cross from Conor McMenamin.
The Lions had chances themselves, with Ayo Obileye connecting with James Penrice; the former’s long ball allowing the wing back to get into the box, and pass low, however Kurtis Guthrie’s shot was blocked.
Livingston did start to come alive in the second half, with De Lucas getting on the end of a Mo Sangare freekick, but his header hit the top of the net on the way out.
Good play from Joel Nouble eventually saw the ball played into the path of Jamie Brandon who steamed into the box, however his decision to shoot instead of square the ball was perhaps the wrong as his effort was saved easily.
The hosts would have the ball in the back of the net, with Bruce Anderson breaking away on the half way line. His finish, low between the legs of keeper Zach Hemming, would be for nought, as VAR ruled the striker offside.
The non-goal seemed to wake the visitors up, and some good individual play by substitute Alex Greive allowed him to create space to get a shot away on the edge of the box, however the effort was tamed and easily saved by Shamal George.
The Lions would eventually get their just reward for their second half performance. A Stephen Kelly freekick on the right sideline was whipped dangerously into the box where it found Sangare. His ball across the face of goal was met by De Lucas, who’s touch was clinical as he guided it into the net from six yards.
St Mirren would equalise just seconds before fulltime however. A lofted ball into the box was met by Alex Gogic, who nodded it on to Stav Nahmani, with the Israeli heading past George in the Livi goal.
