Livingston U20 5-1 Forfar Athletic U20
A convincing win for our Development squad tonight sees them bounce back from a string of disappointing results.
Livi’s young Lions went into this game on the back of a 2 game losing streak but took only 3 minutes to announce their intentions when Josh Mullin had a net bound effort tipped over the bar by Loons keeper Jack Shaw.
But only 4 minutes later Shaw was left standing as Matthew Knox slotted the ball past the stopper to open the Lions’ account. And 10 minutes later Liam Watt made it 2-0 with a long range strike from around 30 yards out.
Knox came close again shortly afterwards, but his strike from distance was somehow tipped round the post by Shaw.
And just before the interval Forfar pulled one back from the penalty spot as Jamie Gill wrong-footed Maley from 12 yards for 2-1.
The second half then became the Dale Carrick show as he netted 2 goals in 3 minutes to put Livi out of site of the young Loons. His first came from a loose ball which he wasted little time in rifling home. This was followed up with a header from a pinpoint Josh Mullin cross.
Forfar pushed hard to get goals back but Livi’s defence was firm and resolute, and Josh Mullin cemented the win with almost the last kick of the ball with a simple tap-in.
