Livingston WFC 0-3 Kilmarnock WFC
Livingston ended 2024 with a home defeat, as Kilmarnock left the Home of the Set Fare Arena with a 3-0 victory. Goals from Abby Robinson, Katie Gallagher and Georgina McTear gave Killie a convincing victory on the final outing of the year.
An even first twenty minutes saw not few chances created, until Kilmarnock captain Abby Robinson sprung the game into life. A ling busting run saw the midfielder evade several Livi defenders before firing nicely into the bottom corner.
From here, there were a barrage of chances from the away side, with Robinson the architect on several occasions. Fellow midfielder Louise Cowan was causing Livi plenty of problems, with Cara Gray threatening in behind. Rachel Pirie was kept busy in the Livingston goal, saving from Gray amongst others.
Gray provided the second goal before half time, finding Katie Gallagher at the back post who made no mistake with a majestic curled effort.
Killie continued to press for goals and earned a third from a corner kick. The set piece fell kindly to centre back Georgina McTear, who poked home to make it 3-0.
A moment of note for Livi saw youth player Jessica Wheeler make her debut for the club for the final 15 minutes.
Eilidh Martin received a instant double yellow card, for fouling Erin Burns and then blatantly kicking the ball away in the same action, leading to her dismissal. However, Kilmarnock saw out the rest of the game and further cemented their spot in 2nd place.
A harsh end to the year for Livi who will look to bounce back after the new year as they travel to St Johnstone on January 5th.
