Livingston WFC 1-2 Rossvale Women
The ladies were back in action this evening but succumbed to their first home defeat of the new campaign against fellow SWPL2 side Rossvale.
This was the Lioness’ third pre-season encounter with the predictable sprinkling of trialists in coach Paul Greig’s continuing quest to find the perfect formula.
Having just returned to Livingston following a year’s stint at Gartcairn, Erin burns opened the scoring in 25 minutes, cutting in neatly onto her left foot before curling a delicious finish into the top corner.
This lead only lasted 10 minutes though when Rossvale’s no 12 evaded the offside trap to be keeper Molly Reeve at the near post.
The interval saw Molly Reeve, Raewyn Murphy and Erin Burns make way for Schenai Gamrot, a Trialist and Sharon Hughes-Lee as the experimentation continued. However 20 minutes after the restart the visitors pulled ahead when a cut-back somehow managed to trickle beyond Gamrot’s reach and into the net.
And that would be the evening’s final goal as the visitors held on to secure the win. The girls are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to East Kilbride to meet Motherwell in their next pre-season outing.
