Livingston WFC 2-0 St Johnstone WFC
Livingston returned to winning ways with a solid 2-0 victory at home to St Johnstone. Kaitlyn Canavan’s second half strike added to a first half own goal as Livingston moved to third in the SWPL 2.
A host of changes were made to the Lionesses starting XI, with Molly Reeve and Emma McFadyen coming in for their first appearances of the season. Returning to the starting lineup was also Rachel Walkingshaw, Hannah Davie and Anna Dickov.
A scrappy first half saw few opportunities for both sides with the only real moment of quality play ending up in a Livingston goal. Briony Morgan drove forward, with the ball ending up to Jen Dodds who laid off Mia McArthur. McArthur’s low cross was diverted into the back of the net by Saints defender Rebecca Robertson.
Few other opportunities presented themselves in a scrappy affair, with Livingston adding security with a second goal fourteen minutes from time. Some carnage in the box saw the ball fall to the grateful feet of Kaitlyn Canavan who made no mistake from close range.
Saints went closest by hitting the bar in the only real notable other chance of the game, as Livingston returned to winning ways with a clean sheet.
