Goals from Lauren Evans and Anna Dickov saw Livingston earn a 2-1 victory over Glasgow Women. The victory for Paul Greig’s side sees the Lionesses narrow the gap to second place to four points with three games to go this season.

The first half was a scrappy affair, with both sides struggling to create many real chances of note until the half-hour mark. Shannon Mulligan forced a good save out of Glasgow keeper Khym Ramsay, who tipped wide from the midfielder’s long-range effort.

Livingston got the breakthrough from the subsequent corner, with Lauren Evans notching her third goal in as many games. An Ashley Elizabeth corner was expertly dispatched on the volley by Lauren Evans to keep up her good run of goalscoring form.

Corners appeared to be Livingston’s best source of chances, with Ramsay forced into another couple of saves from the set piece before half time.

Anaa Dickov fired home early into the second half to give Livingston the perfect start following the interval. A Sharon Hughes-Lee cross looked to hit off the bar, before eventually falling to Dickov who fired low into the bottom corner to double the home side’s advantage.

The second half offered few other chances until Glasgow gave themselves hope by clawing a goal back through Morgan Anderson. Livi were caught out playing from the back, with Anderson intercepting a running through, finishing beyond Molly Reeve to set up a tense final few minutes.

A late free kick threatened Livingston but Reeve held well to deny the away side an equaliser in the final act of the game. The three points combined with Kilmarnock’s draw with Gartcairn sees Livin move four points behind the Ayrshire club with three games left to play.

Livingston are next in SWPL 2 action this Sunday, travelling away to face Gartcairn.
