Livingston WFC 2-1 Stenhousemuir WFC
It may have taken a last minute goal to do it, but the Lionesses made it 2 from 2 in their preseason campaign this evening with a home win over Stenhousemuir.
A night for the football purists in tough conditions in the middle of July as Livingston hosted Stenhousemuir who have recently been promoted to SWF Championship.
The visitors took the lead from a corner kick as Megan French lost her marker and volleyed home first time from 10 yards.
It was a difficult game to build anything in due to the conditions and a very tight block from the visitors. Livingston had lots of the ball but without any real penetration. A couple of half chances in the first half as Jen Dodds pulled out a good save from the goalkeeper and a few efforts which left the Stenhousemuir number 1 untroubled.
A raft of changes in the second half but it was similar outcomes. Lots of the ball, no real threat on the Stenhousemuir goal until the 84th minute when a great delivery from Bryony Ross was converted first time by Ashley Elizabeth.
It was the assister for the first goal who won it in the 90th minute when the ball fell to her in the box from a corner and she smashed high past the goalkeeper and in to the roof of the net.
Another run out with more minutes in the legs. Next up is Rossvale at Home of the Set Fare Arena on Sunday 14th July with a 1pm Kick off.
